Elizabeth Finch School Council & Parent Association (SC&PA) meetings are held every third Tuesday of the month (excluding holiday and pd days), and are hosted hybrid (in person and virtual)
Executive members of the council meet with parents and guardians to discuss issues and concerns, upcoming events, and fundraising. Each parent or guardian in attendance has the ability to vote on topics without having to be an executive member, much like a town hall. Decisions are made based on a majority vote on the matters discussed.
Topics discussed are generally broad and focused on the bigger picture to benefit the overall function of the school. However, these meetings also provide an opportunity for parents/guardians to have more direct and personal discussions with the principal and staff.
While we aim to work closely beside our school, we are not able to take on the following roles:
school governance
employment issues
school management
listening to complaints
Monthly agenda's are posted to Schoolzone and emailed to subscribed emails about 2 weeks before the meeting commences.
Agenda's provide a framework for what topics are planned for discussions. Reach out to us if there is a topic you'd like to see!
